What does the club offer the walker & climber ? The club has a wide range of members, so all types of mountaineering activities are catered for. Don't feel you have to be a rock fiend to join, we have a lot of walkers, scramblers and mountain bikers. Regular meets and a large member base means that impromptu walks are organised locally on some weekends as well as walking taking place on the weekend and hut meets. The hut in Tremadog is located within Snowdonia National Park, 20 minutes drive from Pen-y-Pass and the Ogwen Valley and close to the Lleyn Peninsular and Cadair Idris. Lots of brilliant scenery, whatever you chose to do! Membership of the BRMC gives you instant 10% saving on gear at many outdoor shops around the country. Club members also benefit from contract rates, typically a 15% saving with a major outdoor retailer. The cost of your membership can easily be recouped on the purchase of a new pair of boots or a waterproof jacket ! The BRMC offers you loads of new climbing partners and more experience! There is a great range of ability within the club with a large proportion of members leading in the VS→E1+ grades. The range of climbing interests are varied, be it traditional routes or sports climbs, sea cliffs, grit, granite or limestone. We have members with competent Alpine skills who have climbed at major venues all over the World. Recently, BRMC members have taken trips to the Canadian Rockies, the French/Swiss Alps, the Himalaya and South America. The Club hut in Tremadog is located at one of the UK's top - and often sunniest - climbing venues. |
